Roanoke Park

The renovation of this 1923 bungalow was a huge undertaking. The key motivation was to keep its originality and historic charm but modernize with an open living plan and large windows looking over the garden.

The 1700 sq ft home was gutted on the inside and a new plan was implemented. Every single element of this house had to be restored - the plaster walls removed, new foundation pillars, structural beams and studs replaced. An addition to the back of the house allowed for a light and airy open living plan with vaulted ceilings, two extra bedrooms upstairs that added an extra 1300 square feet.

A neutral palette for the walls and ceilings gives it a fresh modern look. The subtle contemporary furnishings and soft down sofas add comfort and simplicity. The large sliding doors bring the outside in with its lush private garden. It feels cozy and intimate yet open and spacious.
